Halter USX China Index Adds Gaming Leader Webzen Inc and Reports Results For January 2004

Halter USX China Index (^USXC) is pleased to announce the inclusion of Webzen Inc (Nasdaq: WZEN - News) to its existing index of 34 Chinese focused, U.S. traded companies.
Webzen Inc is a Korean based leading online gaming developer and distributor. Its flagship game, MU is a 3-D multiplayer online role-playing game that is extremely popular in China, representing over 85% of its users.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC) online games are expected to bring two million Yuan ($240 million US) to Chinese game makers this year and up to eight billion Yuan ($960 million US) in 2006. "Another enticing characteristic of the gaming industry is that it encourages increased business in the telecom industry," said Tim Halter, managing director of Halter USX China Index.
During the month of January, The Halter USX China Index decreased 5.92% to close the month at 2,838.19. During the same period, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.33%, Nasdaq was up 3.13% and the Shanghai index was up 6.2%.
The biggest gainer within The Halter USX China Index during January was Qiao Xing Universal Telephone (Nasdaq: XING - News), which increased 50.51% while the biggest decline was 28.76% for China Yuchai International (NYSE: CYD - News). ^USXC can be quoted on Reuters, Bloomberg, Thomson Financial Network as well as secondary information providers such as Yahoo Finance.
To be included in The Halter USX China Index, companies must meet the following
criteria:
* The majority of their business is conducted in China
* Their common stock is traded on a major U.S. exchange
* Each company's market capitalization is more than $50 million
* The company is approved by The Halter USX China Index selection Committee,
which considers additional factors such as float, liquidity and
business fundamentals of all existing and potential constituents
