Halter USX China Index Reports First Quarter Results

DALLAS, April 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- For the first quarter and for the month of March this year, the Halter USX China Index ("^USXC") was down 6.68% and 8.98% respectively. During the same period (first quarter and month of March this year), the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.92% and 2.14% respectively and Nasdaq was down 0.46% and 1.75% respectively.
The biggest gainer within the Halter USX China Index for both the first quarter and March was INTAC International (Nasdaq: INTN - News), which increased 63.22% and 15.10%, respectively. The biggest decline for the first quarter was China Yuchai International Ltd (NYSE: CYD - News), down 34.61%. For the month of March, China Unicom (NYSE: CHU - News) showed the biggest decline at 29.44%.

To be included in the Halter USX China Index, companies must meet the following criteria:
- The majority of their business is conducted in China
- Their common stock is traded on a major U.S. exchange
- Each company's market capitalization is more than $50 million
The company is approved by the Halter USX China Index Selection Committee, which considers additional factors such as float, liquidity and business fundamentals of all existing and potential constituents
